PRIVACY NOTICE

Minimal by design.

The application asks for identity and fit information first. Documents and sensitive app details wait until an engagement is active.

EFFECTIVE JULY 21, 2026

What this notice covers

This notice covers information collected through the public website, application process, and private matter workspace. Information received after an engagement begins is also governed by the engagement agreement and applicable professional obligations.

Information collected

We may collect contact information; proposed-client and conflict-check information; limited app, market, and jurisdiction information needed to evaluate fit; application status and communications; documents requested after acceptance; payment status; and technical or security records such as timestamps, device information, and abuse-prevention signals.

Do not submit policies, terms, secrets, deadlines, dispute details, regulated data, or other sensitive facts through the initial application. Documents are requested only through the private workspace after conflict and jurisdiction review and written acceptance.

How information is used

  • Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
  • Evaluate capacity, fit, conflicts, authorization, and jurisdiction.
  • Communicate a decision and administer an accepted engagement.
  • Maintain conflict, accounting, advertising, security, and professional-responsibility records.
  • Comply with law and protect applicants, clients, the practice, and the service.

App Counsel Studio does not sell applicant information, use it for behavioral advertising, or use applicant documents or app descriptions to train AI models.

Service providers

Selected providers may process information to supply hosting, authentication, databases, file storage, security, electronic records, and payment processing. They receive only information reasonably needed for their function and are evaluated and supervised consistently with the practice’s professional obligations.

Applications and confidentiality

Applying does not create an attorney-client relationship or guarantee acceptance. Application information is handled according to applicable duties concerning prospective clients. Do not assume unsolicited details or files establish representation or that every communication will be privileged.

Retention

Application, conflict, security, payment, and matter records are retained only for the practice’s documented operational and professional-responsibility needs. Basic identity and conflict information may be retained after other application material is deleted when reasonably necessary to protect current, former, and prospective clients. Backup or legal-compliance copies may persist for a limited period.

Security and requests

Reasonable administrative, technical, and contractual safeguards are used, but no electronic system is absolutely secure. Use only the designated private workspace for documents. Requests concerning website information may be sent to the public contact listed in Disclosures; some records may need to be retained despite a request.
